Dear Good Shepherd Families,

After much deliberation and with heavy hearts, we have decided that it is in the best interest of our families, our teachers and our school to cancel our GSS Summer Camp for this summer. This was not an easy decision to make but we felt it was important for our families to know as soon as possible so you can plan accordingly. I want to thank Alicia Connor, our Summer Camp Director, who was tireless in her efforts to host our beloved Summertime Camp this year and who has provided years of summer time joy for our GSS community. I also want to thank the loyal Summertime Camp teachers - Nadine Warren, Robbi Walls and Ann Marie Sears - who work the whole summer to provide a wonderful experience for our young campers. Along with these four amazing teachers and all of our other fabulous camp teachers who pitch in to make all the fun happen at GSS every summer, we say "Thank You!" It will not be the same at Good Shepherd this summer but positive things do come out of difficult times. We are having the roof replaced on our school and church buildings, a huge undertaking that has been difficult to schedule while keeping the school and church operational. With the school and the church closed, this much-needed work can take place without disruption to either entity. We will also have some improvements made to the school facilities over the summer in preparation for the upcoming school year.

Another positive outcome of not holding camp this summer is that it will allow us to remain completely focused on the fall and to prepare for any situation that may arise. Our teachers will receive training to maximize the various platforms and tools we will have in place to make learning as seamless as possible as we move forward. We will set up the different age-level programs to reflect and follow all state guidelines whether it is in-person learning, distance learning or a combination of both. Our seasoned teachers and staff are working hard to provide the best of Good Shepherd for your children. We will have a program to offer all of our students that is age-appropriate, engaging and full of support from our experienced teachers. We will continually update you over the summer of our plans and programs for the fall as we learn more in the coming weeks and months.

As always, thank you for your patience and your support during this difficult time for all.

Camp Forms

"We absolutely adore Good Shepherd! Two of our children have graduated and our youngest daughter will be there for two more years. The teachers and all of the staff at Good Shepherd are incredible. They foster such a warm and caring environment and teach all of their students to love school while still challenging them every step of the way.  My children looked forward to going to school every day and spent most of their summer mornings in Good Shepherd Camp. We still sing so many of the Good Shepherd songs as a family and say the prayers we have learned at Good Shepherd every night at dinner. If you want your children to be happy, confident, nurtured and challenged, Good Shepherd is the only choice!" - Lydia T.
